Bringing algorithmic art to the streets of Ballina
29 October 2023

I am very excited to have been selected for the public art exhibition on permanent display here in Australia in the grounds of the Northern Rivers Community Gallery - a really beautiful regional gallery and cultural hub.

The Ballina Shire Council (BSC) and Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) sought to bring artists, businesses and property owners together to provide street art focused on sites in the Ballina central business district (CBD).

BSC and NRCG recognise that many of the walls adjoining the carpark areas and laneways attract unwanted tagging and graffiti. This initiative offered a one-off trial to support street art on high priority walls and buildings to demonstrate the value of quality street art in increasing vibrancy and preventing unwanted graffiti.

Folded Circle and Kaibō selected

Two of my algorithmic pieces - Folded and Kaibō - were printed 3m x 3m and permanently displayed on the walls of buildings in the gallery precinct along side two other local artists. So exciting to have my generative art displayed as public art in my local community!
